　　1、as用作固定短語

　　A.as a matter of fact adv. 事實上

　　I'm leaving for Beijing tomorrow, as a matter of fact. 實際情況是我明天就要去北京。

　　B.as a whole adv. 總體上

　　As a whole I don’t like you, but I appreciate your life style. 總體上講，我不喜歡你，但是我喜歡你的生活方式。

　　C. as far as adv. 遠到， 直到， 至于

　　As far as I know, he has gone to London. 據(jù)我所知，他去了倫敦。

　　就我所知，他到鎮(zhèn)子上去了。

　　D. as for 至于

　　As for her family I just know that her father died when she was 8.

　　E. As if 好象.。.似的 仿佛.。.一樣

　　She spoke to me as if she knew me. 她和我說話的神情，好像她早就認識我似的。

　　F. as long as 只要， 在.。.的時候

　　You may borrow this book as long as you promise to give it back. 只要你答應(yīng)歸還，你就可以把這書借走。

　　G. as to 關(guān)于， 至于

　　I don't know anything as to the others. 至于其他，我一無所知。

　　H. as well as adv. 也， 又

　　3，as…as …和…一樣

　　99年71題：While there are almost as many definitions of history as there are historians, modern practice most closely conforms to one that sees history as the attempt to recreate and explain the significant events of the past。

　　參考譯文：盡管每一位歷史學(xué)家都有自己對于史學(xué)的定義，現(xiàn)代實踐比較接近符合這樣一個定義，這個定義把歷史看作是重新創(chuàng)造和解釋過去重要事件的嘗試。

　　4、not so much…as… 與其說…不如說是...

　　94年71題：Science moves forward, they say, not so much through the insights of great men of genius as because of more ordinary things like improved techniques and tools。

　　他們認為，科學(xué)之所以向前發(fā)展，與其說是因為天才偉人的洞察力還不如說是因為像改進了的工具和技術(shù)那些更為普通的東西。
