四、各類活動(dòng)（activities）

　　1.約會(huì)（date）

　　約會(huì)是人們?nèi)粘＝浑H中重要的活動(dòng)。當(dāng)我們需要和別人一起參加某項(xiàng)活動(dòng)，或拜訪他人，就應(yīng)當(dāng)征求別人的意見(jiàn)，提前約定：

　　would dr. norman be able to see me at nine sharp tonight？（今天晚上九點(diǎn)諾曼醫(yī)生有時(shí)間見(jiàn)我嗎？）

　　alice， do you happen to be free this afternoon？（愛(ài)麗絲，你今天下午有空嗎？）

　　i was wondering if you were doing anything on saturday evening？ （星期六晚上您是否有空？）

　　how about going on a hike tomorrow？ （去踏青，好嗎？）

　　should i make an appointment with you for the next few days？（以后幾天我還需要和你預(yù)約嗎？）

　　對(duì)別人的邀請(qǐng)，我們應(yīng)該先表示感謝，然后表明我們的態(tài)度，接受或者不接受。如果我們不能接受，就應(yīng)向?qū)Ψ轿�婉表明緣故，并感謝對(duì)方的好意。

　　在英語(yǔ)中，我們可以經(jīng)常這樣說(shuō)：

　　oh， surely i can， i‘d really appreciate it.（哦，當(dāng)然可以，我非常樂(lè)意�。�

　　that‘s settled then.（就這么定了。）

　　i‘d love to， but i……（我很想去，但是……）

　　我們也可以從下面的對(duì)話中體會(huì)：

　　a： good morning. doctor croat‘s office. can i help you？

　　b： i‘d like to make an appointment to see the dentist.

　　a： let me see. i can arrange for you to see the doctor in a week.

　　b： can‘t i see him tomorrow？

　　a： i‘m afraid you cant. the dentist is very busy these days.

　　2.觀光和旅游（visit and tour）

　　此類對(duì)話多為介紹性或喜好類內(nèi)容，如介紹一個(gè)景點(diǎn)的特色、對(duì)某件紀(jì)念品的喜好等。其中涉及的內(nèi)容較多，考核范圍較廣。

　　weve arranged for to visit the terracotta warriors. （我們?yōu)槟惆才帕藚⒂^兵馬俑。）

　　the exhibits are a feast for eyes.（這些展品使我大開(kāi)眼界。）

　　i‘m impressed by this piece of work.（這些作品給我印象頗深。）

　　please give me some of your tourist brochures.（請(qǐng)給我一些你們的旅游資料。）

　　would you please tell me some of the attractions here.（可否介紹我一些這兒的名勝？）

　　is it worthwhile to see the ancient city？（此古城很值一看嗎？）

　　what time do we depart？（我們什么時(shí)候出發(fā)？）

　　show your admission tickets， please�。ㄕ�(qǐng)出示門(mén)票。）

　　請(qǐng)?bào)w會(huì)下面的對(duì)話：

　　a： oh， darling. our vacations coming tomorrow.

　　b： yeah， it‘s just wonderful！ so， do you have any plan for it？

　　a： umm， how about take a trip to hawaii？

　　b： hawaii‘s too hot for us to bear， my dear.

　　a： then， how about go to hong kong？

　　b： how can you think about that？ there is nothing interesting in hong kong！

　　a： but， but……swheresdo you really like to go？

　　b： beijing， my little sweetheart. do you know why？

　　a： i got it. because its so near to our home.

　　3.商業(yè)往來(lái)（business）

　　商業(yè)往來(lái)是少見(jiàn)的一個(gè)特定場(chǎng)合，其詞匯需要牢記，固定搭配如cut down， go up要熟悉。同時(shí)，商業(yè)往來(lái)多是很正式的談判，要注意說(shuō)話者的語(yǔ)氣，以求更好地應(yīng)付。

　　please have a look at these samples！（請(qǐng)看樣品。）

　　we have the widest selections in the whole city.（我們擁有這整個(gè)城市比較齊全的貨品。）

　　our prices are the most reasonable.（我們的價(jià)格是比較合理的。）

　　how much have they gone up？（上漲了多少？）

　　we can offer you better discount terms.（我們可以向你提供更為合理的折扣。）

　　i‘ve come to talk about the feasibility of a joint venture.（我來(lái)是為了商談合資經(jīng)營(yíng)的可能性。）

　　we can cut down the price for you， how about two percent？（我們可以給你減價(jià)百分之二，怎么樣？）

　　after signing the contract， lets have a drink to celebrate the successful cooperation.（簽完合同后，讓我們喝一杯以慶祝我們的合作愉快。）

　　its a pleasure to do business with you. （和你做生意是一件快樂(lè)的事情。）

　　a： it sounds much better this time. ohm， ok， its done.
