    Philip： He's the Dean of Admissions for the University of Michigan. Grandpa： And it turns out he's a classmate of Philip's. Philip： We were both on the tennis team. Robbie： Great！

    Philip： It is great. He's going to be in New York tomorrow to interview applicants for admission. Grandpa： And he's agreed to fit you into his schedule.

    interview： 面談，面試。美國(guó)沒有全國(guó)統(tǒng)一的大學(xué)入學(xué)考試，各所大學(xué)或?qū)W院都有自己的招生要求。多數(shù)院校要求學(xué)生提出SAT（Scholastic Achievement Test學(xué)業(yè)成就測(cè)驗(yàn)）等類似高中會(huì)考的成績(jī)，高中生可參加數(shù)次測(cè)驗(yàn)，以較優(yōu)成績(jī)提出申請(qǐng)。在決定是否錄取一名學(xué)生時(shí)，學(xué)校不但考慮學(xué)生的中學(xué)成績(jī)，也要看上述考試成績(jī)。此外，有些院校還要求面試（interview）。
