2020年新春過(guò)后，君誠(chéng)學(xué)校進(jìn)入了新學(xué)期的學(xué)習(xí)，面對(duì)疫情帶來(lái)的重重困難，升學(xué)指導(dǎo)部門開展了在線指導(dǎo)課程。在上一學(xué)期升學(xué)指導(dǎo)報(bào)告會(huì)的基礎(chǔ)上，繼續(xù)跟進(jìn)高中部同學(xué)的升學(xué)目標(biāo)，并實(shí)時(shí)分享一些熱門考試的變更信息，以便同學(xué)們合理安排各項(xiàng)考試。以下是我們對(duì)近期海外大學(xué)升學(xué)動(dòng)態(tài)和下一階段升學(xué)指導(dǎo)工作安排的通報(bào)。

　　After the Spring Festival of 2020, the new semester has begun. Faced with the difficulties of the epidemic, the SIBS College Counseling Office has started online guidance courses. On the basis of last semester's guidance meeting, we continued to follow up the promotion goal of HS students and shared some changes of college entrance tests, so that students could reasonably arrange these tests. This communication is to consult on the college counseling agenda for the rest of the school year.

　　1、暑期活動(dòng)規(guī)劃、Summer Activity Planning

　　為了讓同學(xué)們了解暑期活動(dòng)對(duì)申請(qǐng)海外大學(xué)及個(gè)人發(fā)展的重要性，2月12日上午，君誠(chéng)學(xué)校長(zhǎng)陳曉民博士和升學(xué)指導(dǎo)老師馬彩虹通過(guò)線上課程，為中學(xué)部全體同學(xué)開展了關(guān)于《如何規(guī)劃暑期活動(dòng)》的專題講座。在講座中，陳校長(zhǎng)和馬老師講述了什么樣的暑期活動(dòng)值得同學(xué)們參加以及如何挑選適合的活動(dòng)，并介紹了暑期活動(dòng)的分類及其特點(diǎn)。同時(shí)，也展示和推薦了一些特色的、有挑戰(zhàn)性的活動(dòng)，鼓勵(lì)同學(xué)們?cè)跐M足學(xué)業(yè)要求的同時(shí)積極參與暑期活動(dòng)，為以后的海外大學(xué)申請(qǐng)?jiān)黾痈?jìng)爭(zhēng)力。后附一份報(bào)名表，請(qǐng)每位同學(xué)至少選擇一個(gè)活動(dòng)。

　　這是一份要求完成的在家作業(yè)，截止日期：3月15日。學(xué)生填報(bào)的信息將納入學(xué)生檔案以便后續(xù)核對(duì)，因此請(qǐng)學(xué)生認(rèn)真完成，請(qǐng)家長(zhǎng)予以重視。

　　On February 12, Dr. Xiaoming Chen, the Head of school and Caihong Ma, the college counselor, gave a special lecture on how to plan summer activities for all students in the MSHS through online courses. It profoundly analyzed the importance of summer activities in benefiting students’ application of overseas universities and students’ personal development; described what activities are worth participating in and how to choose suitable activities; and introduced different categories and characteristics of summer activities. At the meantime, it encouraged students to participate in summer activities while they are studying to meet academic requirements so as to increase competitiveness for overseas university applications. Attached is a selection form, please choose at least one activity.

　　This is a homework assignment and requested to be finished before March 15th. The assignment will be recorded in thes tudent files. Therefore, it needs to be completed carefully and parents also need to be actively involved.

　　2、托福/雅思報(bào)考、TOFEL/IELTS Registration

　　受疫情影響，2020年2月及3月份的托福和雅思考試安排全部取消，請(qǐng)同學(xué)們關(guān)注4月份之后的考試時(shí)間安排。我們也會(huì)將最新的考試信息分享給同學(xué)們。同時(shí)，我們要求十年級(jí)同學(xué)積極參加托福/雅思考試，務(wù)必在今年6月份之前完成首考，力爭(zhēng)在進(jìn)入十一年級(jí)前達(dá)到托福90分或者雅思6.5分以上。在首考之后，根據(jù)成績(jī)制定準(zhǔn)備方案，原則上以三個(gè)月為一個(gè)重考準(zhǔn)備周期并繼續(xù)報(bào)名重考。十一年級(jí)未達(dá)標(biāo)的同學(xué)，要抓緊時(shí)間報(bào)考4、5月份的考試，并且視目前托福成績(jī)來(lái)定是否參加SAT考試。九年級(jí)同學(xué)則可以利用暑假時(shí)間嘗試參加考試。

　　Due to the outbreak of epidemic, the TOEFL and IELTS test arrangements in February and March have been cancelled. Please pay attention to the test schedule after April. We will also share the latest exam information with students. SIBS Grade 10 students shall attempt for the first time TOEFL /IELTS no later than this June and should aim for a TOEFL score of 90 or IELTS score 6.5.

　　After the first exam, according to the examination score making plan. It is recommended to take the exam again every three months.

　　Grade 11 students who still have not achieved this score line shall work hard and attempt the tests in April and May. According to the current score to decide whether to take the SAT. Grade 9 students shall attempt for the first time TOEFL/IELTS in this summer vacation.

　　3、SAT報(bào)考、SAT Registration

　　對(duì)于托福分?jǐn)?shù)在90分以上的9年級(jí)及以上同學(xué)，我們建議開始研修SAT考試�？梢岳�用可汗學(xué)院的網(wǎng)課資源，以及按照美國(guó)大學(xué)理事會(huì)準(zhǔn)備SAT的閱讀書單，開始閱讀跟SAT考試背景知識(shí)有關(guān)的書籍。十一年級(jí)同學(xué)需關(guān)注SAT報(bào)考信息，6月份和11月份的考試在美國(guó)考場(chǎng)，5、8、10、12月份的考試加了國(guó)際考場(chǎng)，也請(qǐng)同學(xué)們了解距離我們較近的香港考場(chǎng)和韓國(guó)考場(chǎng)的考位信息。

　　For SIBS high schoolers who have achieved a TOEFL score of 90 or above, they can start studying for SAT at their own pace. Khan Academy’s online course is a good starting point. Students can also access the reading list published by Collegeboard, the administrator of the SAT to read up literary background books for SAT.

　　SIBS Grade 11 needs to pay attention to the SAT registration information. The exams in June and November are in the United States, and the exams in May, August, October and December are added to the international exams. Please also check the availability of test places in Hong Kong and Korea which are close to us.

　　4、選課指導(dǎo)

　　為了提高同學(xué)們的申請(qǐng)競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力，體現(xiàn)課程多樣化，今年我校會(huì)陸續(xù)開設(shè)多門AP課程。AP課程相較于IBDP課程，更注重廣度，部分AP課程可作為高難度IBDP課程(預(yù)計(jì)2021-22學(xué)期推出)的預(yù)備課程，不僅為學(xué)生們迎接IBDP課程打下基礎(chǔ)，也豐富和加強(qiáng)了自身的學(xué)術(shù)背景。針對(duì)9年級(jí)同學(xué)，我們會(huì)發(fā)放選課意向表，采集同學(xué)們的選課意向。10年級(jí)的同學(xué)可根據(jù)自身學(xué)習(xí)情況選擇科目。11年級(jí)的同學(xué)可結(jié)合各大學(xué)官網(wǎng)給出的高中畢業(yè)要求，來(lái)有針對(duì)性的選擇相關(guān)科目進(jìn)行學(xué)習(xí)。

　　君誠(chéng)目前計(jì)劃開設(shè)的AP科目，課程長(zhǎng)度和開設(shè)年級(jí)如下：

　　結(jié)合未來(lái)大學(xué)申請(qǐng)及專業(yè)選擇，我們也給出AP選課建議，以供同學(xué)們參考：

　　特別提示：建議希望通過(guò)選修AP課程獲得海外大學(xué)的學(xué)分的同學(xué)在2020年11月份中旬截止日期前報(bào)考2021年5月份舉行的對(duì)應(yīng)科目在國(guó)內(nèi)的AP考試。詳情待公布。

　　In order to improve students' overseas application competitiveness and demonstrate the diversity of courses, our school will open several AP courses this year, and the course selection is planned to be completed in mid-November.

　　AP courses are more extensive than IBDP courses. Some AP courses can be used as preparatory courses for advanced IBDP(expected to be launched in the 2021-22 semester), which not only lay afoundation for students to study IBDP courses, but also enrich and strengthen their academic background. We will collect students' course intention by form for Grade 9. Grade 10 students can choose courses according to their learning conditions. According to the requirements of high school graduation onthe website of each university, students can choose relevant subjects to study. 　　5、11-12年級(jí)升學(xué)流程、Grade 11-12 application process

　　剛剛結(jié)束了緊張的RD輪申請(qǐng)，我校12年級(jí)同學(xué)正在等待大學(xué)錄取結(jié)果，所有老師也和他們一樣，等待著好消息的到來(lái)。

　　同時(shí)，11年級(jí)同學(xué)也即將進(jìn)入升學(xué)準(zhǔn)備階段。我們建議從現(xiàn)在到8月份這段時(shí)間積極備考托福和SAT。受到疫情影響，各考試時(shí)間安排會(huì)實(shí)時(shí)調(diào)整，還請(qǐng)同學(xué)們隨時(shí)關(guān)注各考試官網(wǎng)信息。在今年的暑假期間，11年級(jí)同學(xué)需要著手準(zhǔn)備個(gè)人簡(jiǎn)歷和擇校。9月份新學(xué)期開學(xué)后，我們會(huì)和同學(xué)們一起開展頭腦風(fēng)暴，準(zhǔn)備申請(qǐng)文書及個(gè)人陳述。10月最先開啟的是英國(guó)UCAS申請(qǐng)系統(tǒng)。隨后美國(guó)大學(xué)ED(提前錄取)和EA(提前行動(dòng))及UIUC(伊利諾伊大學(xué)厄巴納-香檳分校)的申請(qǐng)會(huì)一直持續(xù)到10月底。11月份開放的是加州大學(xué)全部分校一輪申請(qǐng)以及UW(華盛頓大學(xué))的申請(qǐng)。12月份開放的是RD(常規(guī)錄取)和ED2(提前錄取)，會(huì)一直持續(xù)到明年1月1日截止。

　　SIBS Grade 12 has just finished its intense round of RD application and is waiting for the offer letters of university admission. All the teachers are also waiting for the good news.

　　Meanwhile, Grade 11 is about to begin preparing college applications. We recommend students to actively prepare for TOEFL and SAT from now to August. Because of the epidemic, the exam schedule will be adjusted on time, so registration information should be searched in the website.During this summer vacation, Grade 11 students need to start preparing their resumes and college selection. After the new semester starts in September, we will brainstorm with students to prepare the Essay and personal statement writing.
